This collection is named after an album called Forever Halloween, which is one of my favourite The Maine album’s. What makes this album unique to modern music produced today is that it was recorded using casette tapes. This recording process pushed them to perform all songs like they would on stage, by listening to each other and adjusting in real time without as much overthinking over small details. They were restricted to the amount of reel on the tapes for the number of takes they could do for each song which created an album that was based on instinct and authenticity.
They are a band that inspires me to create and spend time building something great, personal and honest. They’re fully independent and organise all their own tours and merch and they always meet their fans after they have finished their concerts. So when naming this collection, it seemed only natural to honour this band and the mahi they put into their craft. Halloween isn’t just a day in the year, its a feeling that can be enjoyed and celebrated forever.
